To design a fair, data-driven energy policy for a climate-neutral Europe — that is the goal of the ENERPOL project. Coordinated by Prof. Dr. Maximilian Todtenhaupt from the Institute for Public Finance and the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), the project partners from 10 countries will, by 2030, research policy strategies that empower households in the energy transition and define them not only as consumers but also as producers and providers of flexibility. In doing so, ENERPOL combats energy inequality by combining behavioral insights with detailed data on household income, wealth, and energy consumption, thereby helping to bridge the growing gap faced by households in coping with volatile energy prices.
