Nico Marienfeld presents research project at the IIPF in Nairobi, Kenya

In August, Nico Marienfeld attended the 81st Annual Congress of the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF), hosted at the United States International University – Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. This year’s overarching theme was Public Sector Capacities, providing a platform for exchange and discussion on key issues in public finance.

At the conference, Nico Marienfeld presented research entitled “Compliance Costs of Corporate R&D Tax Incentives.” The presentation was followed by engaging discussions and exchange with researchers from all around the world.

Alongside the academic program, there was also time to explore Nairobi and gain insights into Kenya’s culture. A real highlight was a safari tour together with fellow PhD researchers, where the group had the chance to see the “Big Five” in their natural habitat.
