On June 9, 2026, the Institute of Public Finance was pleased to host Tim Köhler from the Development Policy Research Unit at the University of Cape Town.
During his visit, Tim exchanged ideas with members of the institute and the faculty on current research topics and presented his work on “Intergenerational Educational Mobility and the Evolving Role of Race in South Africa.” His research examines how patterns of educational mobility across generations have changed in South Africa and how the role of race in shaping educational outcomes has evolved over time.
