As part of the "Öffentliche Finanzen" lecture, Michael Wohlatz from the Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance provided our students with unique insights into the practice of budget policy with an invited lecture on the subject of budget preparation by the federal states. His explanation of the consequences of the current ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court on the debt brake for the federal states and especially for Lower Saxony was particularly interesting.
